Day of Release

Our congregation was in the middle of worship when the Lord said to me “fully functioning.” As soon as I questioned what that meant, God began to reveal to me that there are many people doing great things for the Lord, yet at a diminished capacity. In fact, God showed me that while some people are moving in their gifting’s and callings, others are not, and that many of them need healing to be fully functioning in what God has for them to do.

In my own life I have had to deal with resentment and unforgiveness. It never feels good when we are hurt by others, especially by Christians. For a period of years, this happened to me over and over again. I would do something for the Lord for what I thought were all of the right reasons, but it would turn out so badly. Eventually, all I wanted to be was just a Believer, nothing more. I had no desire to be involved or to contribute in any way to the kingdom of God. I still had a deep love and compassion for others, but I was determined not to show it in any way. I knew that it would just end badly.

Recently our fellowship had a guest minister. He laid hands on me and prayed. The Lord used him to address the deep wounds in my past that I thought had already been dealt with and were long behind me. He spoke right-on words of release and healing. The years of weights that I had carried and felt pressing down on my chest, literally leaving me short of breath, were removed in an instant and I was free! Even the scar that I had seen in my mind’s eye was gone.

Are you like I was? Are you oppressed? Have you been beat down by life? Do you feel marginalized? Have you been carrying issues, hurts and pain for so long that they have become a part of who you are? Has the wilderness become your home instead of just part of the journey? Do you need healing or deliverance? Do you want renewal, empowerment or guidance? Maybe you need to feel God’s love as he wraps you in his arms. Perhaps you are doing the will of the Lord but not in the full power of what God has ordained.

The Lord said to me that we are in a “Day of Release.”

The Bible says “…now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation” ( ). In other words, since that verse was written centuries ago, that means that any day and every day is a day of God’s favor and release. I hear the Lord saying that this is the season of deliverance, healing and release! Now is the time to move! For restoration you must move out in faith and believe that God wants to heal you and that he has a plan for your life. He promises to “supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus” ( ) and he promises to “give good gifts to those who ask him!” ( ).

The Lord used a man with godly wisdom and insight to address deep rooted issues in my life. Perhaps you need to seek the counsel of godly men and women for healing. The supply is there for you; the gifts are there for the asking. I urge you to pray, yield your heart to God, release the past and walk in wholeness and fullness of life in Christ Jesus.
