A Family’s Faith-Filled Journey with Superbook
In a quiet neighborhood in Thailand, eight-year-old twins, Stamp and Satang, live with their loving family. Though their home is filled with warmth, laughter, and care, life has not been easy. Their father works tirelessly as a driver, earning modest wages while also battling diabetes and recovering from a herniated disc that once left him unable to walk. Their mother, Somjit, is fighting kidney cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy treatments, which leave her physically weak. She works part-time at a small nail salon, earning just enough to help keep the family afloat.
Despite their financial struggles and health challenges, the family remains close-knit and hopeful. But Somjit often worried about her children’s future—especially their education. She couldn’t afford extra classes or learning opportunities, and the burden weighed heavily on her heart.
Then, in December 2023, a flyer changed everything.
The local church distributed invitations to a program called School of Life, featuring CBN Animation’s Superbook—animated Bible stories designed to teach children about God’s love and truth. Stamp and Satang were intrigued and asked their parents if they could join. Seeing it as a positive alternative to screen time, their parents agreed.
In April 2024, the twins began attending the program. Through Superbook, they encountered stories of faith, courage, and redemption. One episode in particular—“Jonah”—touched them deeply. After watching it, both children decided to accept Jesus.
Stamp shared her personal experience:
“I believe God is real because I have had personal experiences with Him—whether it was my improved performance in school or an incident where a fish bone was stuck in my throat. While I was in great discomfort and unable to remove it, I prayed for God’s help, and the bone came out.”
Just as Jonah cried out to God from the belly of the fish, Stamp believed God heard her prayers too.
From that moment on, the twins began to change. They became more responsible, more loving toward their mother, and more obedient at home. Every night before bed, they prayed for their mother’s cancer and their father’s diabetes, asking God to give them good health. Their faith was simple, yet powerful.
Their prayers didn’t go unnoticed.
One day, while waiting to pick up her children from church, Somjit spoke with a church leader who shared the message of God’s love. Moved by her children’s faith and the peace she saw in them, she decided to pray and accept Jesus herself.
Somjit said:
“I want God to help with my illness. I believe he can. Before believing in God, I was always worried and burdened, unable to find a way out. But after accepting Him, I feel peace in my heart and can leave my worries with God.”
Her transformation was visible. Once quick-tempered, she became more patient and hopeful. She expressed deep gratitude for the program:
“I never thought there would be such a good program like this, where children can learn so much without having to pay anything.”
