Living Water in San Juan

In the sun-drenched community of San Juan, nestled in Cañas, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, clean water has long been a precious and limited resource. This June, thanks to Operation Blessing, the community received a life-changing gift—access to safe drinking water after dangerously high levels of aluminum were found in their supply. But alongside this physical blessing came something even more powerful: the Living Water of Jesus Christ.

As part of the water project, CBN Animation’s Superbook joined Operation Blessing to bring the Gospel to the children of San Juan. The goal was simple yet profound—teach the children about the importance of caring for natural water, while introducing them to Jesus, the Living Water, who fills every void and never runs dry.

The local school opened its doors, and the day was filled with joy, learning, and spiritual discovery. Through games, storytelling, and animated Bible content, the children were drawn into the truth of God’s Word.

They watched the Superbook episode “In the Beginning,” which helped them see God as the Creator of all that is good and beautiful. The lesson emphasized that although we have all sinned, God has always had a plan to bring us back to Himself—through Jesus.

The children, full of excitement, shouted together:

“Jesus is the Living Water!”

This powerful declaration echoed through the classroom, marking a moment of deep understanding and heartfelt belief. The children didn’t just learn about water—they learned about eternal life.

Of the 11 children who attended, 8 made decisions to accept Jesus into their hearts.

Each child received a Book of Life (a book of abridged Bible stories that also guides the reader in how to receive salvation) and coloring sheets that corresponded with the episode. These materials allowed them to creatively interact with the story and continue reflecting on the message at home. Many expressed enthusiasm for the vivid illustrations and were eager to explore more.

A Global Mission of Transformation

In communities like San Juan—and in countless others around the world—CBN Animation’s Superbook is bringing the Gospel to life for children. Whether through animated episodes, interactive workshops, or simple acts of love, Superbook is helping children discover that they are seen, known, and loved by God.

This outreach is more than a one-time event. The team plans to return to San Juan every two months to continue discipling the children and nurturing their faith.
