A Marine who was court-martialed for taping a Bible verse to her computer is taking her appeal to the nation's highest military court Thursday.

In 2013, Monifa Sterling displayed the verse, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper," in her workspace.

When a supervisor ordered her to take it down, Serling refused, citing her First Amendment rights.

She was court-martialed and a lower court upheld her conviction.

Attorneys from the Liberty Institute are representing Sterling at today's appeal.
