Ebola Patient Arrives at Maryland Hospital
12-31-1969
The latest American health worker to contract Ebola while volunteering in Africa is being treated Friday at the National Institutes of Health.
The organization announced Thursday it would receive the patient at its hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.
The patient had been volunteering at an Ebola treatment center in Sierra Leone. He was transported to the United States in isolation on a chartered plane.
The Maryland facility is the same place American nurse Nina Pham was treated after she contracted Ebola while caring for a patient in a Dallas hospital.
