Report Ties Clintons to Russian Uranium Deal in US
More controversy is arising regarding the Clinton Foundation and its relationship with wealthy foreign contributors. This time there are questions pertaining to a uranium mining deal that could involve U.S. national security while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state.
An extensive New York Times investigation reveals millions of dollars from foreign investors flowed to the Clinton Foundation while Bill Clinton became a partner with one of those investors.
The State Department approved the deal while Hillary Clinton was still in office.
And the newspaper reports the Clintons did not live up to their promise to disclose the donations to the Obama administration.
"The episode underscores the special ethical challenges presented by the Clinton Foundation, headed by a former president who relied heavily on foreign cash to accumulate $250 million in assets even as his wife helped steer American foreign policy as secretary of state, presiding over decisions with the potential to benefit the foundation's donors," the Times reports.
The Clinton campaign says there's no evidence that Mrs. Clinton supported the foundation's donors while she was leading the State Department.
Hillary Clinton is dismissing the reports as "conspiracy theories."
