Soe’s Journey from Anger to Grace

In the bustling streets of Myanmar, where food vendors line the roads and families work hard to make ends meet, 13-year-old Soe lives with her mother and stepfather, helping them sell food to support their household. Life hasn’t been easy for Soe. Her father passed away when she was young, and her mother’s remarriage brought new challenges. Financial hardship forced her to leave school after Grade 5, and though her parents are Christians, their faith is more of a tradition than transformational.

Soe carried a heavy heart. She was often angry, quick to retaliate when teased, and struggled with sorrow and depression. Her relationship with her parents was strained—she would talk back and resist their guidance. But everything began to change when she encountered CBN Animation’s Superbook.

Through the animated Bible stories brought to life by CBN Animation’s Superbook, Soe found something she hadn’t known before: a personal connection to God’s Word. One lesson in particular, “Jacob and Esau,” touched her deeply. It taught her about the power of forgiveness and the peace that comes from patience. “I decided to be patient and forgiving,” she says, a simple yet profound declaration that marked a turning point in her life.

Superbook didn’t just entertain Soe—it transformed her. She began to see that fighting only deepened her pain, while forgiveness opened the door to reconciliation and happiness. Her behavior changed. She started listening to her parents, building a better relationship with them and with others around her. The anger that once defined her gave way to grace.

Even in moments of sadness, when she looked at her life and felt overwhelmed, Superbook reminded her that God always prepares the best things for her. That message gave her hope and helped her see beyond her circumstances.

Soe’s story is a powerful testament to the global reach of Superbook. In Myanmar—a country rich in culture but often marked by economic and spiritual challenges—Superbook is planting seeds of faith in young hearts. It’s showing children like Soe that they are seen, loved, and capable of change through the love of Jesus.
