Superbook Conquers the Land

In the heart of Thailand, two Superbook camps were held this October, one in Pattaya and the other in Chiang Mai. These camps, themed “Conquer the Land,” aimed to empower children to overcome fear through the teachings of God’s Word while fostering new friendships among participants from various churches. The camps saw a remarkable turnout, with over 250 children and adults.

Miss Phuangyok, a dedicated Sunday school teacher, shared her experience at the camp. “The Superbook camp left a profound impression on the teachers, especially with the dedication of the volunteers who put their all into preparing and leading the children through every activity—truly outstanding,” she said. The inclusivity of the camp was particularly noteworthy, as it welcomed children of all backgrounds, including those with special needs, ensuring they could participate fully and receive blessings alongside their peers without any discrimination.

The camp’s activities centered around the story of Joshua, including a walk rally with five stations, each teaching the children a different characteristic of Joshua: Be Still, Be Strong, Be Brave, Be Joyful, and Be Shining. Additionally, group activities throughout the week allowed children to create crafts representing spiritual weapons against evil, which they then presented to their peers.

On the final day, a powerful simulation of the walls of Jericho was set up. Children wrote their fears on the walls and then walked around them in silence in a reenactment of the Bible story. Later the children tore down the walls to symbolize how God had helped them to overcome their fears and enter the “promised land” He had given them.

The impact of the camp was profound. “The most joyous part is that six out of the seven children we brought chose to pray to accept Jesus, and they made that decision on their own, without anyone nudging them. They believed with their hearts, which fills us with deep gratitude to God,” Miss Phuangyok shared. This heartfelt transformation was a testament to the power of the Superbook curriculum and the dedication of the volunteers and teachers.

Superbook camps like these are more than just events; they are life-changing experiences that bring children closer to God and help them grow in their faith. “If the camp is held again next year, we will definitely come back because we believe that attending Superbook camp aligns with our goal of wanting to see children grow in faith and walk in God’s ways,” Miss Phuangyok affirmed.
