Joy and Jesus Come to El Mirador through Superbook

In the vibrant community of El Mirador, Mexico, a celebration of clean water turned into a life-changing encounter with the Living Water. As part of the School WASH program, (water, sanitation, and hygiene), the inauguration of a new water system brought together children, families, and local leaders. But what followed was even more refreshing than the water itself—a special event featuring CBN Animation’s Superbook that introduced the Gospel to children in a fun and engaging way they had never heard before.

In the days leading up to the event, the Superbook team hinted at a surprise, building excitement among the children. On the day of the gathering, the community leader reminded everyone to attend, and anticipation filled the air.

The session began with a fun icebreaker to engage the children. When asked if they had heard of CBN Animation’s Superbook, none had—so the team gave a brief introduction and screened the episode “Roar!” The story of Daniel’s unwavering faith and God’s protection in the lions’ den captivated the children. After the viewing, they eagerly shared their thoughts and interpretations.

The discussion turned to the power of prayer. The children opened up about when and why they pray, and how important it is to talk to God. Then came the most beautiful moment of the day: the Gospel was presented in a simple, heartfelt way. A team member from Operation Blessing led the children in a prayer of faith, and eight children made the decision to accept Jesus.

Afterward, the children received the Book of Life (a book of abridged Bible stories that also guides the reader in how to receive salvation) and coloring sheets that matched the episode, “Roar!”. They joyfully colored scenes from the story, expressing their creativity and connecting with the message in a personal way. Many were excited to take their books home and continue exploring the stories of faith.

The day wasn’t over yet. As the children returned from an activity with the Clean Water team, they were greeted by a surprise guest—Gizmo, the beloved robot character from CBN Animation’s Superbook. At first shy, the children quickly warmed up, hugging Gizmo and posing for photos. Even the adults joined in, capturing memories of a day filled with joy and transformation.

The event was a beautiful blend of community, creativity, and spiritual awakening. Local leaders and volunteers helped guide the activities and count the decisions made for Christ. The school generously provided a classroom for the screening, and the rain waited until the very end—almost as if heaven itself had smiled on the day.

A Global Mission of Hope

The story of El Mirador is a powerful reminder of how CBN Animation’s Superbook is reaching children in every corner of the world. In Spanish-speaking communities, in remote villages, and in places where the Gospel is spreading, Superbook is opening hearts and planting seeds of faith.
