Connecting with Children in Grano de Oro

Last December, the Operation Blessing team made another impactful visit to the micro-enterprise project in Grano de Oro, Turrialba, Costa Rica. This time, the focus was on eight children, the sons and daughters of the project's beneficiaries. The intimate setting allowed for meaningful interactions, as the team spent quality time with each child, fostering trust and understanding.

Children in Costa Rica watch the Superbook episode "In the Beginning."During the first visit, the team noticed that the children were reserved, hesitant to open up to people from outside their culture. However, this second visit provided an opportunity to break down those barriers. Over the course of five hours, the team engaged the children in various activities, including playing, painting, and drawing. These activities helped build a rapport and create a comfortable environment for the children.

A significant part of the visit was dedicated to watching two Superbook episodes. The first episode, "In the Beginning," introduced the children to the origin of sin. It was rewarding to see them grasp the concept and understand how sin affects their lives. Later, they watched "The First Christmas," which explained the importance of Jesus's birth. The new video, "Gizmo in Pajamas," was particularly effective in teaching the children about the significance of the Savior's birth.

The children's eyes lit up with understanding and hope as they learned about Jesus's love and sacrifice.

The impact of this visit was profound. The children, who had initially been reserved, opened up and embraced the message of hope and salvation. The team looks forward to seeing what the Lord will continue to do in the hearts of these children and their families during future visits.
