A Christmas of Hope in El Marañón
In December, the community of El Marañón in Villanueva experienced a Christmas like no other. The Superbook team, in collaboration with Orphan's Promise, held a Superbook Christmas event, bringing a message of love and hope to the children of this remote area. The goal was clear: to teach the children that Christmas is not only about parties, decorations, food, or gifts, but about Christ Jesus our Lord, born in a manger as the ultimate gift through which God shows his love to the world.
The event took place at the facilities of the Nación Santa church, with the full support of the church pastor and the dedicated brothers and sisters serving in all activities. The children watched each Superbook video with great attention, participating eagerly in the activities and feedback sessions. They sang songs, learned the Superverse from John 1:12, and enjoyed Nutshell Summary sheets and activities to color and connect the dots.
One of the highlights of the event was a surprise visit from their robot friend, Gizmo. His arrival brought immense joy to the children as he sang the salvation poem with them, creating a memorable and uplifting experience.
The impact of the event was profound. We are filled with great joy and happiness to report that 29 children said yes to Jesus by making the prayer of faith and confessing him as their Lord and Savior. Our greatest satisfaction is using Superbook to bring the Gospel to these remote communities where the people labor daily to meet their basic needs.
