A Joyful Superbook Event in Štrigova
In the picturesque town of Štrigova, nestled in the heart of Croatia, a special event took place that brought lasting joy to the community. This town, traditionally regarded as the birthplace of St. Jerome, an important Christian saint known for translating the Bible into Latin, celebrated St. Jerome's Day with a series of events. Among these was a Superbook event hosted at the local elementary school.
The event brought together approximately 160 children, along with their teachers and the principal, for a screening of an episode from Superbook’s 5th season. The excitement in the air was palpable as the children eagerly anticipated the animated Bible story. Before the screening, one of the teachers gave a heartfelt introduction, drawing a powerful comparison between St. Jerome's work and the mission of Superbook. The teacher explained that just as St. Jerome made the Bible accessible to people by translating it into Latin, Superbook brings the Bible to life for today’s children, making biblical stories accessible and relatable to a younger audience.
This connection between the past and present resonated deeply with everyone in attendance. The children were captivated by the Superbook episode, and the subsequent games and activities further engaged them, making the event both educational and fun.
After the event, the teacher graciously took the Superbook team to the Church of St. Jerome. Here, Gizmo, the beloved Superbook character, was photographed in this sacred space. The teacher believed that Gizmo shares a similar mission to St. Jerome—bringing the Word of God to the people, especially children.
