Superbook Teaches Gor Pai to Be Brave
In the vibrant country of Thailand, a young boy named Apichart, affectionately known as Gor Pai, faced significant challenges from a young age. Though he was born into a Christian family, Gor Pai's life was marked by hardship. His parents divorced, and he was placed under the care of his grandparents. Both his father and mother are not very attentive, and his father is disabled, adding to the family’s struggles. Despite these difficulties, Gor Pai remained a lively and cheerful child, always smiling and confidently engaging in conversation.
Without much guidance at home, Gor Pai did not receive teachings about God from his parents. However, his journey of faith began in Sunday school, where he heard stories about God through Superbook Academy lessons from his Sunday school teacher. Two years ago, during a Sunday school class, Gor Pai watched the Superbook episode “In the Beginning.” This episode, which tells the story of God's creation of the world and humanity, deeply moved him. Inspired by what he saw, Gor Pai decided to pray with his Sunday school teacher to receive Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
Through Superbook, Gor Pai learned about the love and power of God. One episode that particularly resonated with him was “Gideon.” From this story, he understood that even when no one else is with us, God is always by our side. This realization gave him strength and courage. “Once, I was criticized by my friends. I returned home and prayed to God that I would not be alone, for I have God, and I will not forsake Him. My friends’ insults even extended to my parents … that they were separated. I believe that even though my parents may not be together, God is always with us,” Gor Pai shared.
Watching “Gideon” made Gor Pai braver. He learned to stand up for himself and his beliefs, even in the face of criticism. “When we face troubles, we can always pray to God for help with courageous hearts and the ability to push forward,” he says. Gor Pai's faith gave him the courage to face his challenges with a strong and hopeful heart.
