Pray for America - Day 28
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” –
DAY 28: "Responding to God's Love"
In today’s climate of unrest in America, are we losing hope, or are we remaining steadfast in our faith?
During the 70 years of Babylonian captivity, the Jewish people were losing hope that they would ever see their homeland again. With the nation divided and the people scattered, God sent Jeremiah to deliver a message to His people. Jeremiah reminded them that God indeed loved them with an everlasting love and it would be His lovingkindness that would draw them back to Him. The nation would be rebuilt, and the hearts of His people restored. For those in America needing encouragement, take heart! God’s loving power will draw us, and we too will be rebuilt! The key is for us to want His love enough to respond. When we do, He will restore our hearts and strengthen our faith. America needs her spiritual and ethical foundations rebuilt, and it will be God’s people who are willing to be used by Him whom He will call on to participate. For those who are steadfast in the faith, strong in hope, and filled with love, our response to His call will be: “Here I am, Lord, send me.”
Pray that we will become so strengthened by God’s powerful love that He will be able to count on us in His plan for rebuilding and restoring our beloved America.
