Roaring Springs of Life-Changing Water

"One of the greatest joys I've known traveling for CBN is seeing Operation Blessing at work in the lives of children around the world," says Terry Meeuwsen, co-host of The 700 Club. "I was expecting my visit to an orphanage in Romania to be the same; and it was! The children seemed happy and glad to see us."

"But I learned something tragic was happening here that broke the heart of the caretakers. In the summer months, it's not that there is 'not enough water' -- there's no water at the orphanage. During the summer the town well is so low it can't supply the children with any water. The orphanage's makeshift reserve supply gets used up quickly. I learned these children must haul water to the orphanage three months out of the year."

"I think for children, who already feel they are living in circumstances that are not normal, to then have the hardship of hauling water (on top of that) ... water is heavy."

"But on the day I came to visit something special was going to happen. Of course, we had to bring every child an Operation Blessing stuffed bear. But we were also here because OB had dug the orphanage it's very own well."

"And there it was! The drilling machine that would, today, finish the well. And I shoveled too, doing my share on behalf of every donor that gives to CBN and Operation Blessing."

"Because of this well, this summer will be different for these children. They will have plenty of water! Your gift to nearly 200 children -- a well 600 feet down, deep into the Romanian aquifers that flow with plenty of water."

"To know that we can make a difference and give them a glass of water to have with dinner, or water to brush their teeth -- all of that is an opportunity and a responsibility for us. And what a privileged. You know we are not only bringing water in, we are bringing the living water of God's love. And just like the Word of God never returns void, when we move forward with the love of God I don't think that returns void either."
