A Little Child Shall Lead
Khon Kaen Province, Thailand
12-year-old, Gam, grew up in a Buddhist family in Thailand. The family is poor so Gam’s mom was excited when her children were invited to an afterschool program supported by CBN’s Orphan’s Promise. “I wanted my children to learn more and to get help with their studies,” Gam’s mom, Kwang, told CBN. At the weekly program, the kids learn English, get help with homework, and eat a healthy meal. They also watch CBN’s Superbook. One episode grabbed Gam’s attention.
“I used to think that humans evolved,” said Gam. “But when I watched the Superbook story about creation, I understood that we came from God. He made us, and He is our Father!”
After watching that episode, Gam and her brother prayed with the teacher to become Christians. “I learned that we are sinful and that Jesus redeemed us from our sins. I poured my heart out to Him. I felt so much joy!”
Gam’s mom Kwang soon joined her kids at church, where she prayed to become a Christian as well.
Later, Orphan’s Promise learned that Kwang needed help growing her food business. So we gave her extra supplies and ingredients to make more food to sell. “Now, I have more food to sell and I am able to serve more customers,” she said. “My sales are up and my children don’t go hungry anymore. God brought us out of darkness and into the light through Orphan’s Promise!”
“Superbook helped me, too,” added Gam. “It’s more than a cartoon for children. It helps me to know God and the Bible. Thank you for creating Superbook for us!”
