Superbook Helped Son Tait Teach God’s Word to Children
In the heart of Cambodia, where vibrant culture meets deep spiritual hunger, lives a young woman named Son Tait. At 25 years old, Son Tait’s journey is one of resilience, faith, and transformation. Born into a poor family of eight siblings, she lost her father at a young age and grew up facing challenges that could have easily dimmed her hope. But today, she stands as a worship leader in her church and a passionate teacher of God’s Word—thanks in large part to the life-changing impact of CBN Animation’s Superbook.
“I currently live with my mother. My older siblings have their own families. And all of them are Christians,” Son Tait shares. Despite her role in worship, she had never taught or shared the Word of God before. Her professional life as an English Literature teacher for grades 1 and 2 at a local school gave her a platform, but she lacked the tools and confidence to disciple children spiritually.
That changed when Superbook Academy entered her life.
Superbook Academy, the curriculum based on CBN Animation’s Superbook series, brings Bible stories to life through animated episodes and provides teachers with the tools they need to engage children with timeless truths in a way they can understand and relate to. When Son Tait’s school invited the Superbook team to conduct teacher training, Son Tait joined the program with a desire to grow. But the journey wasn’t easy.
“It was really difficult to teach Superbook with only one training course and teaching many children without experience in teaching the Word of God,” she admits. “I paid attention to reading and contact[ed] the Superbook program to help me solve my problems.”
Despite the challenges—especially in organizing games for the children—Son Tait persevered. She relied on coloring activities to keep the children engaged, but she knew there was more to learn. After attending a second Superbook training, everything changed.
“I became clearer about the teaching strategy through the Superbook program. [I learned] a sequence and a conclusion. [I learned to relate] the video story to the Word in each lesson, to the SuperTruth [main lesson takeaway] and SuperVerse [memory verse], as well as various games and activities,” she explains.
This structured approach transformed her teaching. With 98 students across three Superbook classes, Son Tait began to see the fruits of her labor. “When we teach children in a sequence of lessons, they are more interested and attentive to learning, helping children have a better relationship with God, and they grow spiritually.”
The impact was profound—not just on the children, but on Son Tait herself. “Teaching through the Superbook program has transformed my approach to sharing God's Word. The children are more engaged, and I feel more equipped to lead them in their spiritual growth.”
Today, Son Tait is both a worship leader and a confident Bible teacher. Her story is a testament to how Superbook is empowering leaders around the world to disciple the next generation.
