No Child Too Broken for God to Redeem

In a quiet corner of Cambodia, a young girl named Sovannet—affectionately called Vannet—is experiencing a new chapter in her life, one filled with hope, healing, and faith. At just seven years old, Vannet has already endured more than most could imagine. Born into a violent, non-Christian family, her world was shattered when her father was imprisoned for domestic violence and murder, and her mother lost her life in the same tragic incident. Left orphaned, Vannet now lives in an orphanage with her seven siblings.

But even in the midst of such deep pain, God was at work.

Vannet first joined the Superbook program simply for fun. She enjoyed watching the colorful animations, and the exciting stories drew her in. But what began as entertainment soon became a lifeline. Through the patience of her teachers and the kindness of her peers—who told her they loved her because Jesus loved them—Vannet began to believe in something greater than her past.

“After watching many Superbook videos, the story that resonates with me the most is ‘Roar!’” Vannet shared. “This story taught me that God listens to our prayers and always provides answers and solutions. Just as God protected Daniel from the lions, I learned that God will help us too.”

This message of divine protection and love touched her deeply. For the first time, Vannet felt seen, heard, and safe. She began to believe that God was with her always, and that belief began to change her from the inside out.

Once a stubborn and angry child who lashed out when upset, Vannet is now learning to respond with patience and grace.

“God listens to our prayers and always helps us.”

She no longer yells or hits others when she’s angry. Instead, she calms herself down. Now Vannet, listens to others and helps her teachers with joy. Her transformation is not just emotional—it’s spiritual. Vannet is becoming more forgiving, more cooperative, and more loving, reflecting the very heart of Jesus, whom she has come to know.

She now enjoys group activities, has built meaningful friendships, and continues to grow emotionally and spiritually in the nurturing environment of her orphanage and the Superbook program.

Vannet’s story is a powerful reminder that no child is too broken, and no past is too painful for God to redeem. Through the global reach of CBN Animation’s Superbook, children like Vannet are discovering the truth of the Gospel in ways that speak to their hearts and change their lives.
