      Visited by an Angel

Ten-year-old Reina lives with her family in a remote part of Honduras.  Here, water is scarce and not safe to drink. The community relies on an old tank which collects untreated ground water.  When the tank runs dry, everyone goes thirsty.

“The water ALWAYS tastes bad and has a terrible smell,“ Reina said.  “We drank it but the smell was so bad.”  Her mother, Leticia, agreed.  “Sometimes we only had water two times a WEEK.  My children got very sick from the water.  Reina seemed to suffer the most.”  “Sometimes it hurt so bad I wanted to die,” Reina admitted.  “I asked God to take me to heaven because it was so hard to live with the pain.”  Clearly emotional, Leticia added, “I cried with my daughter when she cried.  She would say, ‘Mommy, I can't stand it anymore, I feel like I am going to die.’”

Then Reina said she felt like God spoke to her as was praying one day.

“An angel visited me,” Reina told us.  “I saw him!  He wore white clothes, and he put his hand on my shoulder.  The angel told me to trust in God, and I really listened to him. Then he said this bad pain and sickness would never happen to me again!”

Soon after that vision, Operation Blessing came and set up a Community Water Project. THANKS TO YOU we built a 5000-gallon tank which treats incoming water.  Next, we ran pipes to every home, including Reina’s.  Now everyone has plenty of clean water for drinking and other household uses.

“After the Angel visited me I did not get pains in my stomach ever again!” Reina exclaimed.  “That’s because Operation Blessing came and gave us clean water to drink!  Thank you, Operation Blessing!
