"Think about this, ISIS is literally at your door and they picked up their guns...These were not your typical warriors," Wendy Griffith explains. "When you talk about having courage, you have to be willing to die for what you believe in and they did. They thought it was worth paying that price to defend their towns, their families, and their livelihoods, and many did pay the ultimate price."

In 2014, as the Islamic State swept through Northern Syria carrying out a campaign of terror, a group of Kurdish female fighters armed themselves with AK-47's and a lot of courage to defend what they held dear--their families and their homes.

CBN's Wendy Griffith spoke with Gayle Tzemach Lemmon, who closely followed this group during this time of battle, and she's on today's rundown to share how these courageous women became a force to be reckoned with.
