The Armageddon Scenario

Today, the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies published a new report called “The Armageddon Scenario: Israel and the Threat of Nuclear Terrorism.” 

The report notes that for more than a decade, Israel has focused on the threat of Iran's nuclear program. But it says Iran "may have distracted Israel from another threat, one that may be no less likely and actually far more difficult to counter: nuclear terrorism." 
 
The author of the report is Chuck Freilich, Israel's former deputy national security advisor. Freilich focuses on the threat of nuclear terrorism and advises that Israel adopt an “uncompromising deterrent policy such as the 'retaliate first, no questions asked' approach.”
 
The report is a sobering reminder of the kind of world we live in, where the marriage of nuclear technology and terror groups bent on world domination can evoke a nightmare like an “Armageddon Scenario.”
