Adding Real Joy to Your Life
JoNell Martin has been watching The 700 Club for 40 years! What she first loved about the program hasn’t changed. She loves seeing stories of God rescuing people who were once without hope.
“I love the testimonies. I had a pastor one time tell me that I knew other people’s testimonies better as I knew my own,” said JoNell. “And so often I share testimonies from The 700 Club.”
JoNell’s been giving to CBN for as long as she’s been watching.
“It’s just a great ministry to invest in and invest in the lives of people, to be able to hear the Lord,”
She’s always given out of a spirt of generosity, yet also believes her obedience to give opened the door to God’s blessings. One of those blessings came when she and her husband became empty nesters.
“One day I said, God, what do You want me to do? And the next day, one of my friends called and said, JoNell, can you come and answer phones at our office,” recalled JoNell. “And a year later, one of the stockbrokers came up to my desk and said, ‘Would you like to come work for me?’
“It was a great job and I totally believe that God gave me that job,” she added.
She saved her earnings and took advantage of the investment options that were offered. In 2001, she retired. She now enjoys buying and selling collectibles while also gifting items to her friends as a blessing to others.
“When you just do something nice for somebody else …God gives to me and I'm able to give it back,” she explained.
Today, JoNell is still a CBN partner and loves seeing how her donations are helping people around the world.
“Putting in well systems for communities that have no water. Pretty amazing to think that through a small donation that I might make, added to everybody else’s donation, that they can do these water systems,” stated JoNell. “I feel honored to be able to give and to feel like I’m a part. And I’m a small part.”
JoNell and David are grateful they trusted God with their finances and encourage others to do the same.
“We’re just blessed in every way. And I think it goes back to the fact that we honor God by giving,” said JoNell. “I would recommend anybody if you have an even $10, $20 that you'd want to donate for a great cause. I think The 700 Club is a great place to invest your money in."
