Mai Phyu Discovers God’s Protection

In the heart of Myanmar, 10-year-old Mai Phyu lives in a Buddhist household with her parents, grandmother, and younger sister. Her family loves her, but life hasn’t always felt safe. Mai Phyu often feared her alcoholic father, whose unpredictable behavior left her feeling anxious and vulnerable. In a culture where Christianity is not widely practiced, Mai Phyu’s journey to faith is nothing short of remarkable.

It all began when she started attending Sunday school with her friends. There, she was introduced to CBN Animation’s Superbook, the animated Bible series that brings Scripture to life for children around the world. One episode in particular—“Roar!”changed everything.

In this episode, Mai Phyu watched the story of Daniel in the lions’ den. She saw how God heard Daniel’s prayers and protected him from harm. That moment stirred something deep within her.

She began to pray for God’s protection from her father.

Inspired by Daniel’s courage and God’s faithfulness, Mai Phyu decided to trust in the same God who saved Daniel. After attending Sunday school regularly, she made the decision to accept Jesus into her heart.

Her faith didn’t stay private. She began retelling the Superbook stories to her grandmother, mother, and younger sister—sharing the message of God’s love and protection with those closest to her. Her family, though not Christian, was deeply moved by her transformation and grateful for the Superbook materials that made it possible.

A Light in the Darkness

Mai Phyu’s story is a powerful example of how CBN Animation’s Superbook is reaching children in places where the Gospel is rarely heard. In Myanmar—a country rich in tradition but often closed to Christianity—Superbook is opening hearts and planting seeds of faith.

Through animated Bible stories, children like Mai Phyu are discovering that they are seen, loved, and protected by a God who listens. Her journey from fear to faith is a testament to the global impact of CBN Animation’s Superbook.
