Superbook Brings Living Water to Agua Escondida

In the remote community of Agua Escondida, Mexico, where clean water has long been a dream, the inauguration of a new Community Water System marked a turning point. Alongside the gift of physical water came something even more life-giving—the living water of God’s Word, brought through an event held by CBN Animation’s Superbook that touched hearts and transformed lives.

Eighteen children and two mothers gathered to celebrate the water system’s launch, unaware that they were about to encounter the Gospel in a way that would leave a lasting impact. The event began with registration and a lively icebreaker to energize the group. When asked if they knew Superbook, several children excitedly recognized Gizmo, the beloved robot character from previous promotional materials.

Then came the heart of the program: a screening of the Superbook episode “Roar!”—which tells the story of Daniel in the lions’ den. As the children watched Daniel’s unwavering faith in the face of danger, they were captivated. The story opened the door to a meaningful discussion about the power of prayer and how it connects us to God in every circumstance. Some children shared their own prayer habits, while others expressed a desire to begin praying for the first time.

The team then asked the children what they knew about Jesus. With gentle guidance, the Gospel message was shared. Eleven children responded with open hearts, choosing to pray and accept Jesus into their lives.

One child, Hernán, summed up the experience beautifully:

“A mí me gustó Superlibro porque es maravilloso… Aprendí a orar y aprendí a cuidar a las personas, no pelear con las personas.”
“I liked Superbook because it’s wonderful… I learned to pray, and I learned to care for people, not fight with people.”

The event closed with coloring activities and informal conversations about the episode. The children left with smiles, stickers, a Book of Life (a book of abridged Bible stories that also guides the reader in how to receive salvation), and a new understanding of God’s love. In a place where clean water was once scarce, spiritual refreshment flowed freely.
