No End in Sight for Snow-Battered Boston

People living in the Northeast just can't catch a break. More dangerous winter weather struck Boston and nearby areas over the weekend, making it the fourth major winter storm in three weeks.

Residents are dealing with several feet of snow that just keeps getting deeper, causing dangerous conditions all over.

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker warned residents during a news conference about the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning due to exhaust vents clogged with snow. He urged residents to clear the area around home exhaust pipes.

Baker also warned of the danger of roofs collapsing under the weight of accumulated snow and urged residents to remove some of it from their roofs, if possible, for their own protection.

Wind gusts of up to 70 mph have caused massive power outages in the Northeast. That, combined with prolonged sub-zero temperatures, have created dangerously freezing conditions for residents who are snowbound in their homes.

Although New Englanders are used to harsh winters, this one is testing their strength. It's said to be the third worst winter on record with more snow possibly on the way.

Forecasters say a new winter storm could bring snow to parts of Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Georgia on Monday and that the system could move to the Northeast Tuesday, dumping yet more snow on that region.
