US Silence on Israel Speaks Loudly at UN

The United States won't take the floor at the debate over human rights in the Palestinian terroritories Monday at the United Nations Human Rights forum.
Washington has historically defended Israel, but not this time. A U.S. spokesman in Geneva told Reuters the U.S. delegation wouldn't be speaking about the issue during the annual debate today.
The U.S. move comes after the Obama administration said it is reassessing its relations with Israel following Benjamin Netanyahu's statements about his difficulties with a Palestinian state during the recent Israeli election campaign.
