A Future Restored Thanks to Needed Surgery
Anyuli was born with a cleft palate. She lives in Honduras with her parents, Cindy and Jose, and her sister. It has been impossible to afford the surgery she needs.
“When I left the hospital, they said her surgery would cost over $3000 dollars. We could not afford that. When I was in the labor and delivery room, all the mothers were there. Most looked at my daughter as if she were abnormal.” Cindy recounts.
“I can provide for my daughter's basic needs—milk, food, clothing. I work in the fields, and my earnings are small.” Jose chimes in.
Cindy said that even her relatives spoke harshly about their baby girl.
“They said she was born ugly, that she couldn't eat, and she wouldn’t be able to speak. Some even said it would have been better if Anyuli had died.” Cindy recalls tearfully.
Then Operation Blessing met the family, and you made it possible for the baby to receive free surgery to repair her cleft lip.
“Today, I thank God and the people who support Operation Blessing. My daughter is well! She has fully recovered, eats and drinks normally.” Jose expresses.
“It’s a miracle what they did for us. I never imagined that people would give to help pay for my daughter’s surgery. I offer a thousand “thank you’s” to everyone who helped us.” Cindy finishes warmly.
