The Well That Never Runs Dry

CBN.com Seven-year-old Anne and her friends enjoy a water fight at the end of a hot afternoon. But just a few years ago, Anne didn’t even know what it was like to be a child.

Anne is an orphan from a tribal group living on the Thai-Burmese border. She was at the mercy of  a woman who was supposed to take care of her.

“I was very scared of her. If I didn’t do what she wanted, she would hit me."

“One day she took me to the House of Hope and told me that she would come back for me, but she never did.” 

But while Anne was there with a growing number of other children, the house began to experience a severe water shortage—which meant the children had to bathe in a filthy pond.   

Baa Jing, caretaker at the House of Hope remembers, "When the water would run out, the children would take their buckets and walk out into the field. There, we would bathe and wash our dirty clothes in the dirty canal. Everyone started praying for water, and  the staff contacted CBN Thailand."

Operation Blessing provided the $2,000 that was needed to install a new water system right on the property. Now the staff, the children, and eight-year-old Anne have all the water they need—and it never runs out.
