God's Positioning System (GPS)
Welcome to a New Year all.
Over the holidays, I was reflecting on this life journey we are all on. Last year there were a number of folk who completed the course, ran the race and won the prize. Then again there were those who fell by the wayside. In making my New Year’s resolutions, I am well aware of the fact that I only made it to this time and place in my life because:
"The Lord my God carried me, as a father carries his son, all the way I went until I reached this place. He carried me on eagles' wings. The Lord alone led me; no foreign god was with me."
In terms of my future, I am also assured that:
"Even to my old age and gray hairs…He will sustain me. He made me and He will carry me and rescue me. For this God is my God for ever and He will by my guide even to the end."
The economy and this world system may go down the tubes, but:
"I choose to cast my cares on the Lord. I am not going to worry about my life, what I will eat or drink; or about my body (in my case heart, cancer, Menier’s disease/vertigo) or what I will eat drink, or wear. My heavenly Father knows my needs."
I (and many of you) haven’t completed the journey yet, because:
"There are still very large areas of land to be taken over. And because, no eye has seen, no ear has heard , no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him."
My prayer for you folks:
"Forget what lies behind, and press toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called you heavenward in Christ Jesus. And may your love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight."
And be confident in this: "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ."
Because:
"The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you or forsake you."
Ultimately I am assured that: "My eyes will see the King in His beauty and view a land that stretches into the distance."
With appreciation,
Scott Ross
