A Father Tries To Save His Little Girl

CBN.com -- When Ya nan was three years old, doctors told her parents that she wouldn’t live past her 8th birthday unless she had surgery.  Ya Nan was born with a hole in her heart.

“She was very skinny and always cold,” her mother remembers.  “Whenever she tried to run and jump, her face would turn gray and she’d cry from the pain.   I could hardly stand to watch.   If I could have given her my heart, I would have.”

So Mr. Qui set out to raise the money his daughter needed for surgery.  He worked very hard at his construction job—and was gone from 6am to 6pm – or later— seven days a week!

Mr. Qui says, “I did the math and figured out that it would take 10 years of my income to pay for heart surgery for Ya Nan.  But I didn’t know if Ya Nan could wait that long.

The Qui’s had tried to get help for their daughter from local government agencies—but after those attempts failed, they turned to CBN.

“I contacted CBN and right away they told us they would help with her surgery! “ Mr. Qui continues, “At that moment, I knew that my daughter would live!    I was so happy.  Even my neighbors noticed.  They asked why I was smiling so much, I told them  ‘because of the good-hearted people at CBN!’”

It wasn’t long before we arranged the surgery Ya Nan needed.   A surgeon repaired the hole in her heart.  And soon, Ya Nan was completely well - better than she had been her entire life!

Mrs. Qui is very grateful.  “This heart surgery has totally changed Ya Nan.  Thank you CBN for saving my daughter’s life!”

Ya Nan smiles, “I don’t feel any pain in my heart, and I can play with my friends!”
