Advice from a Multi-Millionaire: The Single Most Important Investment

CBN.com Mike Krieg always dreamed of making millions as a custom home builder.

"In a very, very short period of time I had turned a quarter-million dollar loan into a little over four and a half million dollars," Mike says. "People in my business looking at me going, ‘Oh Mike, you're something else!' And boy, did I like that."

His work got in the way of his relationship with God.

"I wasn't going to church, wasn't tithing," Mike says. "In my opinion, what does God need money for? That's the God's honest truth. I could never put those two together -- God and money. Given my history and my background of business in making money for yourself and glorifying myself with it, I'm not giving it to anyone."

In 2004, Mike's life changed on the side of a Colorado highway. He lost control of his truck and hit another truck head-on.

"I screamed out to God that I didn't want to die and I wanted to be a better daddy to my kids," Mike says.

That night, he prayed to receive Jesus.

"God saved my life, right then, right there on the side of the Colorado highway," he says. "And from then on, life was very different for me."

In the wake of the accident, Mike's priorities began to change. By the time the legal settlements to the crash victims were decided, Mike lost his construction company.

"I had $3,000 left to my name, but there's something else in my mind and in my heart now, to live," Mike says. "All I know is God saved my life and I don't care about anything else in my world right now."

One night while watching television, Mike came upon a TV show that has encouraged him in his faith – to this day.

"I'm up at night by myself, and I turn on the television and there's The 700 Club."

Mike began to rebuild his life on the biblical principles he was learning from the program.

"Pat shared with me one night, as he does many times, the law or reciprocity. And he put it into a form that I understood," Mike recalls. "It's the single most amazing investment any human being could make. The more you give, the more you get."

Mike joined The 700 Club. Then, he started a new job in real estate and he began to rebound financially.

Today, he's a successful real estate agent in Grand Junction, Colorado. He's increased his giving to CBN over the years, and he's now a member of CBN's Chairman's Circle.

"If you can give of your time, if you can give of your talents, if you can give of your finances, the more you get. And it's beyond understanding; it's something to be believed in," Mike says. "And I believe in it."

God wants to bless you too, just as He has blessed Mike Krieg. One way you can give to God's work is through CBN.
