God’s Economy—Finding Emotional, Spiritual, and Financial Blessing

Linda Liem grew up in a Buddhist family in Vietnam.
In 1968, she moved to the states, married and completed her education in public health. When her husband died, she was left raising their two children alone.

“I was really depressed. And I lost the job that I had. So, for a year I didn't, I couldn't work,” said Linda. “I don't know why I didn't pray to Buddha, but I prayed to God. I just say, Lord, please help me to bring up my two kids.”

As she dug into savings Linda looked for ways to curb spending.

She said, “Every time I take money out of savings, I know that that money is gone. Right. So, I didn't know how I would replace it.”

“I tried to spend as less as I can. I didn't know what the future would hold.”

A year later, she committed her life to Jesus Christ, returned to work as a nurse and started tithing.

“I knew that God told us in Malakai to tithe to give 10% of our income. And He would open the windows, His own windows to reign blessings on us.”

Over the years as Linda has worked in health care, she’s experienced God stretching her money.

“And He gives me ideas to save. So, in that sense, He gives me more money, and the money that I give tithing is compensated. I don't lose anything,” said Linda.
In 2002, she was given a $20,000 raise by an incoming CEO who believed Linda wasn’t being paid enough.

Linda said, “Yeah, that was amazing. And I knew that that was a gift from God. Which as a result, raised my social security and gave me a more comfortable retirement.”
She also began watching The 700 Club and became a partner.

“CBN, they help a lot all over the world. I see stories in Africa, in southeast Asia, stories of help in the United States with all the disasters. And I was impressed with all the help. So, I thought these people are doing a good job,” said Linda.
Working until 72, Linda today spends her retirement years in Hawaii and loves to visit her children in California.

Linda said, “I know that whenever you give to God, He reigns blessings on you. And, besides the physical comfort that He gives you, He also gives you this emotional, mental comfort too. So those are intangibles, but to me, it's more valuable even than the money that He gives you.”

Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” and we invite you to join in blessing others with your giving to CBN! Your faithful giving brings hope to the hopeless and the truth of God’s Word to millions of homes through The 700 Club! Help bring the love of Christ to the world when you become a CBN partner today!
