Doing This Blessed Everything!

College sweethearts married 65 years, Bob and Faith Cornell agreed on what was priority in their lives from the very beginning.

Faith said, “I was brought up in a home that my mom and dad both tithed on their incomes, and we just knew that 10% belonged to the Lord, right from the time I was little.”

“We're going to tithe, during our life,” said Bob. “And now we're in our sixth decade of honoring the Lord. It's just part of living. And the blessings that we get have been in our marriage, it's in our children, it's in the church, it's in our relationships with our neighbors. It blesses everything.”

Working in education for many years, both Bob and Faith were teachers, and he later became a guidance counselor. 

“God blessed us from the very beginning,” said Faith. “Put us in places where He knew we would prosper.”

Four decades ago, the Cornell’s began to give to CBN.

“The stories I appreciate the most, you see these little kids that are born with deformities, and they can go in and Operation Blessing take their doctors and nurses and change lives forever,” said Faith.

Bob said, “And, so early on we saw that the ministry was growing and then as our resources increased, we could become different levels of support for CBN and oh, what a blessing, to be able to be a part of what the Lord is doing there.”

Bob and Faith say they watch The 700 Club every night because it’s good news to sleep on.

Faith said, “We know God's doing miracles, but to actually hear specific miracles is, um, just increases our faith, you know? God could do that for them. God could do it for me.”

Still going strong, the Cornell’s continue to do what they did from the very beginning – give. it’s a simple approach to generosity.

Bob said, “What really works is that you get to give.”

“We cannot out give God, that's what they say,” said Faith. “And we've proved it true.”
