Hope Delivered to Military Families in Need

Each month, Helping the Home Front is honored to pass out hundreds of food boxes to military familes at two virginia bases, Fort Eustis and Langly Air Force Base.

One mom says, “the monthly food boxes are great because i have 4 children, all boys who eat a lot.  So, anything that can help get us through the month is great.”

Military spouse Alicia adds, “I think it’s amazing and definitely helpful right now.  So, Idefinitely appreciate it.”

At a recent event, we gave out over 200 food boxes, and have distributed over 7,000 boxes total, containing non-perishables like canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, and dried beans.  It helps families stretch their budget during difficult economic times.

Amy explains, “it takes a weight off of us to know that we have food staples to lean back on.  Especially with the way food prices are fluxuating the way they do.”

Jessica says “the food boxes are excellent especially here on the military base.  Sometimes money doesn’t stretch far enough.  So, getting the box helps us stretch the budget a little further.”

Reporter Dory Nissen says, “Helping the Home Front has been passing out monthly food boxes for three years now.  And this time of year, school age children in military family get something special, a Superbook school pack!”

At this event alone, we distributed over 300 school packs filled with school supplies and activity books,  featuring CBN’s bible animation series, Superbook.

One young man says, “it helps me a lot learn about god and the bible. As a kid, because i have it on my phone.  It’s an ap.  It’s a pretty nice ap.  I use it almost every day and i think it’s pretty good.”

Nakina says, “it’s amazing the quality in the stuff here.  I’m so excited and grateful for this.”

Helping the Home Front Director Mary Alsbrook acknowledges we couldn’t do it without support. Our CBN partners are the ones that make this possible.  We could not do it without you.  Thank you so much.

“Thank you!”
