Fueling a Brighter Future in Israel

CBN Israel prepared meals for hundreds of schoolchildren suffering from food insecurity in Israel. The staff rolled up their sleeves to make nutritious sandwiches that would help these children get through the school day while relieving the financial burden on their families. This project is part of our relationship with an organization that runs this program on a daily basis.
"We provide breakfast for unprivileged children all around Israel," says Tal Efrati from the organization Nevet. "Children who have food insecurity. So we give breakfast for them in school." He explains that seventy thousand kids receive a full breakfast every day from the organization, giving them "the opportunity to learn and to focus on studying and not to care about the food."

Efrati credits CBN's involvement for the program’s success: "The donation gives us the opportunity to subsidize those breakfasts to the schools. And also they help us to make sandwiches, which is great and helps the school a lot." He extends his thanks to the organization, saying, "first of all, thank you for your donation and your help. It helps us a lot to create this program and to increase our activity all around Israel."

The willingness of CBN to help is something he finds "very, very grateful." Efrati believes that the simple act of providing food helps a child to "study and to change his future." He concludes by stating that when kids "eat healthy food and they can concentrate in school, this is the way to shape your future and build a better future for yourself. And you can do that with thousands of kids every day. So it's an amazing impact."
