Day 26

Pray for the nation of Israel. Pray that God would strengthen His people. Pray that His will would be done in that land. Pray that strong leaders would govern with wisdom and reverence for the God of Israel. Pray for God to send His holy angels to protect His chosen people.
700 Club guest and best-selling author, Joel Rosenberg put it this way concerning Israel: Pray for peace…Prepare for war. God has instructed us to pray for the peace of His cherished city:
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in our palaces. For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, ‘Peace be with you.’ For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem.
—Psalm 122: 6–9
Yet, today, Israel faces threats from terrorist states who openly declare their hatred and plans for violence. The Bible gives us a timeline of history and events. Here is what the Old Testament prophet Ezekiel wrote:
In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be lying in peace after her recovery from war and after the return of her people from many lands. —Ezekiel 38: 8
The stage is set. Many believe events in the Middle East could easily turn to war, as Iran aggressively tries to acquire a nuclear weapon. Now is the time to fervently pray for Israel. We know that although the nations of the world gather against her – God will intervene! No man, no weapon, no country will ever succeed against the plan and purpose of God.
There is a glorious future for Israel. One day they will turn to God, and recognize Jesus as their true Messiah. What a day of rejoicing that will be. |
|
They will be my people says the Lord Almighty. "On the day when I act, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient and dutiful child. Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not."
—Malachi 3: 17–18
