Day 6

Pray that God would give you wisdom with your finances in these volatile times. Pray that the financial crisis will be solved quickly and that order would be restored to the financial markets. Pray that God’s people would be prospered in these uncertain times.
There is a temptation in uncertain times to give in to fear of financial ruin. But the Apostle Paul taught that we were to rejoice in the Lord at all times, knowing that God will supply our needs. He declared:
I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.
—Philippians 4:12
Then he shared this wonderful promise:
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. —Philippians 4:13
It is God who gives us the strength to work, to plan, to strategize, to think, and to get wealth. The Lord promises that as we put him first in our lives he gives us the ability and energy we need to obtain prosperity.
But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. —Deuteronomy 8:18
But the key is to put the Lord first in all things, then all the other things that concern us in this life – finances, material blessings, peace in our homes – they will be added to us.
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. —Matthew 6:33 |
