Day 13

Ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate any areas in your life that you need to submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Ask the Lord to show you what may be hindering your relationship with Him and then repent of those things. Ask God to give you the grace to overcome any areas of weakness and to walk in victory in Christ.
One of the buzz words in today's media is the word "change". It seems that everyone today is clamoring for change.
God calls for ongoing change in the life of a believer, but he uses a different word — repent.
The word translated repent in the English New Testament is the Greek word metanoeo. W. E. Vine's Dictionary says metanoeo literally means to "perceive afterwards," or in other words, "to change your mind or purpose."
So in order to repent you need to change your thinking to match up with God's thinking on a matter. But to repent always involves a change for the better. Godly repentance requires a change of thinking, and it results in a change of life.
Repentance was a key message of Jesus:
From then on Jesus began to preach, "Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." —Matthew 4:17
Repentance includes turning away from old patterns, bad habits, ungodly priorities and anything that would hinder your relationship with God. At the core, repentance means living out this simple declaration: Jesus is Lord!

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
—Acts 2:38
