Day 25

Today, ask the Lord to show you what you have in your hand to use for His Kingdom purposes. Ask Him for the faith to develop your gifts and for opportunities to use those gifts for His Kingdom and glory.
Today God is asking, "What is in your hand?" It is the same question He asked Moses when He spoke to him from the burning bush.
Then the Lord asked him, “What is that in your hand?” “A shepherd’s staff,” Moses replied. “Throw it down on the ground,” the Lord told him. So Moses threw down the staff, and it turned into a snake! —Exodus 4:2-3, italics added
God instructed Moses to use that thing that was already in his hand to show His mighty power to Pharaoh.
We see a similar example in the New Testament with Peter and John when they met the beggar at the Temple gate in Jerusalem.
But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. —Acts 3:6-7 italics added
God has placed something in each of our hands. His Holy Spirit distributes these gifts and decides which gift each person receives:
To one person the Spirit gives a word of special wisdom; to another He gives the gift of special knowledge. The Spirit gives special faith to another, and to someone else He gives the power to heal the sick. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and to another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to distinguish between spirits. Still another person is given the ability to speak in different kinds of tongues, and another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. It is the same and only Holy Spirit who distributes these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have. —I Corinthians 12: 8–11
Thank God for the gifts He has given you. Praise Him for what you hold in your hand. And ask Him to magnify its use — so that the world may glorify your Father in heaven. |
