Ley Mey Discovers the Power of Prayer
In Myanmar, where many families are still discovering the hope found in Jesus, eight-year-old Ley Mey’s story shines as a beautiful testimony of transformation. When Ley Mey began attending Sunday school regularly, she was introduced to CBN Animation’s Superbook—the powerful Bible-based series that brings Scripture to life for children around the world.
Before joining the Superbook lessons, Ley Mey rarely prayed. Her connection with God felt distant, and she didn’t understand the power of prayer or the importance of obedience. But everything changed when she watched the Superbook episode titled “Elijah and the Widow.”
In this lesson, she learned how Elijah told King Ahab there would be a drought—and God sent a drought. Later, when he prayed for rain, God answered again. This story opened Ley Mey’s heart to the reality of a God who listens and responds.
Soon after, she faced a personal challenge: a painful boil developed on her eyelid, and she became ill. Remembering Elijah’s story, she prayed earnestly for healing. And God answered.
She recovered, and was able to play with her friends again. This experience became a turning point—a personal testimony of God’s love and power.
From that moment on, Ley Mey committed to a life of daily prayer and obedience to God’s Word. Her faith grew stronger, and her behavior began to reflect the love of Jesus. What began as a simple Sunday school lesson became a life-changing encounter with God.
