Hti’s Journey of Repentance and Restoration
In the vibrant yet often challenging landscape of Myanmar, 14-year-old Hti lives with his family of six. Like many young teens, Hti struggled with admitting his mistakes. He wouldn’t apologize, didn’t feel remorse, and often resisted correction. But everything began to change when he started attending Sunday school lessons featuring Superbook Academy.
Superbook Academy, the Sunday school curriculum based on CBN Animation’s Superbook series, brings Bible stories to life through engaging animated episodes and provides teachers with the tools they need to help children understand God’s Word in a way that speaks directly to their hearts. For Hti, one particular episode made all the difference—"The Prodigal Son.”
After watching the story unfold, Hti saw himself in the younger son who had wandered far from his father. He realized that God sees our mistakes and welcomes us back when we return with a repentant heart. The message struck a chord deep within him. Hti shared:
“I have decided to live mindfully so as not to sin.”
This wasn’t just a moment of inspiration—it was a turning point. Hti began to feel remorse when he did something wrong. He started admitting his mistakes and apologizing, something he had never done before. The transformation was evident to those around him.
He now believes that even though he has made many mistakes, if he returns with repentance and apologizes, God will forgive him. This understanding has reshaped his behavior and deepened his relationship with God.
Superbook led Hti to a personal encounter with the grace and forgiveness of Jesus. Through the animated story of the Prodigal Son, Hti learned that repentance opens the door to restoration, and that God’s love is always waiting.
