“Today Is the Happiest Day of My Life!”
In the vast and culturally rich region of Bashkortostan, Russia, Marina—a devoted Sunday school teacher at a local Baptist church—felt a stirring in her heart. She wanted to reach children and families in her community in a deeper, more meaningful way. This summer, she took a bold step and integrated CBN Animation’s Superbook summer camp curriculum in her ministry.
What followed was nothing short of miraculous.
For one week in July, Marina hosted a special camp for children and young people with developmental disabilities, along with their families. Most of the attendees were non-believers, unfamiliar with the Bible or the love of Jesus. But through the vibrant storytelling and engaging activities of Superbook, hearts began to open.
“We spent time in nature. We enjoyed fellowship, master classes and, of course, studied the Scriptures,” Marina shared. “Special talks, testimonies, and Bible study sessions were organized for the parents.”
Each day, the children watched an episode of Superbook, discussed its message in small groups, played games, and sang songs. The curriculum was thoughtfully adapted to meet the needs of the children, and Marina appreciated the flexibility:
“We shortened and adapted the program for ourselves,” she added, “but it was very convenient that we could choose what we needed. Everything was described in such detail and conveniently collected in one place. We are very grateful to the Superbook ministry and dream of opening a Superbook Club in our city.”
For many children, this was their first encounter with the Bible. And for one boy, it became the beginning of a new life.
This young boy has epilepsy and autism. During a Bible lesson about Christ’s sacrifice, he suddenly interrupted Marina, tears streaming down his face. He cried out that he no longer wanted to live in daydreams—he wanted to live with Jesus. Right then and there, they prayed together, and he accepted Jesus Christ.
What happened next was unforgettable.
After the lesson, the children participated in a pizza-making master class. The boy, now radiant with joy, gave away all his pizza with a big smile, telling everyone:
“Today is the happiest day of my life!”
