Living Water and Lasting Hope

In the sun-drenched community of Unión Hidalgo in Chiapas, Mexico, something extraordinary happened—something that went far beyond clean water and coloring pages. Through a partnership between Superlibro (Superbook) and the Clean Water pillar of the Community Water System program, children in this rural area encountered not just physical refreshment, but the living water of Jesus Christ.

The event held in April 2025 was more than just a community gathering. It was a moment of transformation.

In Unión Hidalgo, 66 children gathered in a small, warm classroom prepared by a dedicated local volunteer named Dolores. She not only invited the children but also helped register them, set up the space, and distribute snacks. Her heart for the community was evident, and her words captured the spirit of the day:

“I enjoyed participating as a volunteer in Superlibro, I think it is a very good activity for us in the community.”

Children in Mexico watch "A Giant Adventure."For many of the children, this was their first time hearing about Superlibro. They were introduced to the animated Bible series with the episode “A Giant Adventure”, the story of David and Goliath. Despite the heat and limited ventilation, the children sat attentively, captivated by the story of a young boy who trusted God to overcome a giant.

After the episode, the children joyfully sang the Salvation Poem—a prayer of salvation set to music—and were invited to pray and accept Jesus into their hearts. In a deeply moving moment, 26 children made the decision to follow Christ—their voices sincere, their hearts open.

Each child received a Book of Life (which shares the Gospel in a simple way the children understand), coloring pages, snacks, and a Declaration of Faith certificate to commemorate their decision. These materials weren’t just souvenirs—they were seeds of faith, taken home to be shared with families and treasured for years to come.

What began as a clean water initiative became a wellspring of spiritual renewal. Through the love of volunteers, the creativity of Superlibro, and the power of the Gospel, children in Unión Hidalgo discovered that they are seen, loved, and chosen by God.

This is the heart of Superbook’s mission: to bring the truth of God’s Word to children everywhere—especially in places where hope is needed most.
