Hope in Chiapas
In a village in Chiapas, Mexico, a community born out of displacement and hardship, the challenges of rebuilding life have left deep marks—especially on the children. Many of them do not attend church, and opportunities for spiritual growth are rare. Yet, beneath the surface, there is a hunger to know more, to find meaning, and to experience hope.
That hope arrived in the form of CBN Animation’s Superbook.
When the Superbook team arrived at the local gathering, the children were buzzing with excitement, expecting a theatrical performance. Instead, they were introduced to something even more powerful: the animated Bible story of Daniel in the lions’ den. As the video played, the room grew quiet. Even several mothers who had come along watched attentively, drawn into the story of faith, courage, and God’s protection.
After the screening, the team led a lesson on the importance of prayer—how it can be practiced in different circumstances, and how it connects us to a God who listens, answers, and rescues. The message resonated deeply. Some children expressed a desire to begin praying regularly, and seven of them made the life-changing decision to accept Jesus into their hearts.
One of the children, Emmanuel, shared his thoughts:
“Me gustó Superlibro porque habla de la Biblia. Es muy bonita la historia.”
“I liked Superbook because it talks about the Bible. The story is very beautiful.”
The event ended with joyful conversations, drawing activities, and the distribution of Book of Life books (a book of abridged Bible stories that also guides the reader in how to receive salvation). Fourteen children and nine adults attended, and each left with a seed of faith planted in their hearts.

In a place where spiritual resources are scarce, CBN Animation’s Superbook became a bridge to the Gospel. It brought the Word of God to children who had never opened a Bible, and it reminded their families that they are not forgotten.
