Children in Lindavista Experience the Love of Jesus
In the heart of Chiapas, Mexico, in the community of Lindavista, something beautiful unfolded. Through a partnership between Superlibro (Superbook) and the Clean Water pillar of the Community Water System program, children in this rural region encountered the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
On a warm April day, a local preschool classroom transformed into a joyful space filled with Superbook posters and comfy mats on the floor as 46 children from both Lindavista and the neighboring community of Sanión del Chorro gathered in eager anticipation. Thanks to the support of community volunteers Miguel and Lupita, the event was filled with warmth, laughter, and purpose.
Some children had seen Superlibro before and were thrilled to see it again on a big screen. Others were new to the experience but quickly became captivated. After a fun icebreaker, the children watched the episode “A Giant Adventure”, the story of David and Goliath. As they watched David’s courage and trust in God, their eyes lit up with wonder and understanding.
Following the episode, the children eagerly participated in a review of the lesson. They read the SuperTruth and SuperVerse (the main lesson takeaway and memory verse), and many memorized the SuperTruth with excitement. The message was clear: with God, even the smallest among us can face giants.
Then came a sacred moment. As the Salvation Poem played, the children sang along. When invited to pray and accept Jesus into their hearts, nine children responded, repeating the prayer with sincerity and joy.
One child, already a fan of Superbook, shared how happy he was for the event, saying, “good thing they brought it here!”
The day ended with a creative coloring activity based on the episode, followed by the distribution of stickers, snacks, and copies of the Book of Life (a Superbook themed book used to help share the Gospel and teach children biblical truths). The children left smiling, proudly showing their books to their parents—books filled with vivid images and powerful truths they could take home and treasure.
This event was more than a community gathering. It was a moment of transformation. In a region where resources are limited, Superbook brought something eternal: the love of Jesus, the truth of the Gospel, and the joy of salvation.
