North Korea Could Have 100 Nukes by 2020
North Korea could have as many as 100 nuclear bombs by the year 2020, the U.S.-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies reports.
The Institute's new report says North Korea has made significant progress in its weapons program.
Experts estimate North Korea has between 10 to 16 bombs in its stockpile. They say that number could grow from 20 to 100 over the next five years.
U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy Sung Kim told participants at a recent seminar in Washington that he and others are "deeply concerned about the fact that the North Koreans are continuing to advance their nuclear capabilities," Reuters reported.
North Korea is still unable to arm ICBMs that could target the United States. The report's co-author Joel Wit said it's making technical advances that would allow it to deploy battlefield and tactical weaponry.
