More Snow for Northeast: 'We've Never Seen This!'
There's more bad news for people in the Northeast Monday, with forecasters predicting yet another snowstorm for the area.
The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings for central New York, the Western Catskills, and much of New England through early Tuesday.
Another round of winter weather has Boston at a breaking point. The city could see 18 more inches of snow, and the mayor has already busted the budget, spending $18 million to remove what's fallen this year.
"We're running out of space to put all the snow that we have in the city of Boston," Mayor Martin J. Walsh said.
Boston schools are closed until Wednesday, and court closings Monday mean another delay in jury selection in the Boston Marathon Bombing trial.
On top of that, Boston's Logan International Airport is only allowing a limited number of flights to arrive and depart.
"We've never seen this kind of snow here in the city of Boston any other time in the history of our city," Walsh said.
In areas of New York, the last thing people want is another coating of snow and ice to start the work week -- or in many cases, bring the week to another freezing halt.
"I have not had to have my Monday class for -- this is the third week in a row now. So, it is getting bad," one resident said.
This latest snowstorm comes as a new article in the London Telegraph reports official temperature records have been manipulated to make it look like the earth was warming much more than it really was.
The author said global warming may be one of the greatest scientific scandals of all time.
Still, the debate over whether global warming is real is far removed from Northeast residents like Portsmouth, New Hampshire, resident Carl Stevens.
He's gotten some pretty good use of his snow blower this winter as he digs himself out of more frozen precipitation in the midst of freezing temperatures.
"It's one of those times that I have actually bought something and it actually paid off," Stevens said.
Some New Hampshire cities have also declared parking bans to keep the roads clear as plows push another round of snow off the roads.
