Liberia could be Ebola free in 42 days, health officials predict.

The news comes after the last patient infected by the virus was released Thursday from a treatment center in Monrovia.

"I am one of the happiest human beings today on earth because it was not easy going through this situation and coming out alive," Beatrice Yardolo told The Associated Press after her release. She kept thanking God and the health workers at the center.

Officials say there are no other confirmed cases of Ebola in Liberia.

Ebola is also waning in Guinea after causing nearly 10,000 recorded deaths since the outbreak was discovered a year ago.

But new cases are continuing to emerge in Sierra Leone, with nine reported in a 24-hour period, according to an update from the Sierra Leone government on Tuesday.

Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has said no country can be declared Ebola-free until all the other countries have no cases.

Meanwhile, the head of the Incidence Management System is encouraging Liberians to stay committed to the anti-Ebola regulations.
