The protests in Iran, now in their thirteenth day, may have come to a tipping point. Millions are now pouring onto the streets. The spread of the protests gives some hope that the nearly fifty-year Islamist dictatorship may be headed for collapse.

Speaking on The 700 Club Wednesday, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon said Israel hopes the Iranian people will become free of the regime in Tehran, but as arrests and deaths mount, he is concerned that the people are "paying a terrible price for their freedom." Danon also told Gordon Robertson that Israel is keeping close watch on the Tehran regime's nuclear moves and their ballistic missile production.

Growing unrest inside Iran is raising urgent questions about the regime's future and its impact on regional security. New developments highlight how internal pressure on Tehran is colliding with warnings from the U.S. and escalating tensions involving Israel.

Iranian protests over the flailing economy are spreading even as Iran is reportedly developing chemical and biological missile warheads. Violent protests throughout Iran forced a government shutdown in 21 provinces as unrest spread over skyrocketing prices and economic collapse.

A Jewish person living during the Second Temple period — roughly 516 B.C. to 70 A.D. — was required to immerse in a mikveh before entering the Temple. As a result, ritual baths were built throughout Jerusalem, near main roads, public buildings, and private homes, forming an essential part of daily life in the holy city. One of those mikvehs has now been uncovered in an extraordinary location — hidden beneath the Western Wall Plaza. Hewn directly into the bedrock during the final days of the Second Temple period, the mikveh lay sealed for nearly 2,000 years.
