A Virginia school board decided to drop a policy that would have forced homeschooling parents and students to justify their religious beliefs.

The Goochland County Public School board voted Tuesday night after hundreds of angry parents showed up at a school board meeting to voice concerns over policy.

The rule would have required all homeschooled children age 14 and older to provide a statement about their religious beliefs.

Although the county reversed the measure, the school board still maintains the right to demand a hearing with homeschooling families.

The Home School Legal Defense Association warned the school district they were in violation of state law.

What does this move mean for homeschooling families? CBN News spoke with Scott A. Woodruff, senior counsel with the Home School Legal Defense Association, explains this and more.
